Back in 2017, I embarked on this blogging journey after making the life-changing move from the UK to the USA, hence the blog’s unique title.
As a Brit 🇬🇧 with Jamaican roots 🇯🇲, I bring a diverse cultural blend to my experiences, which I’m eager to share with all of you. By day, I’m a seasoned HR professional with nearly 12 years of expertise under my belt. But my true passion lies in career coaching, a side hustle I’ve been nurturing for over eight years. Helping others navigate their professional journeys has become my calling, and I’m fortunate to be pretty good at it.
Aside from my professional pursuits, I’m a self-proclaimed girly girl who adores fashion, shoes, and the thrill of traveling to new places. Originally, this blog was meant to document my transition to life in Chicago, but life had other plans. Now, I’m here to share my journey through a battle with cancer, offering a candid look at the ups, downs, and everything in between.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my life now is giving back. I’ve founded “www.gngrway.com,” where I provide free coaching sessions to women balancing their careers and fighting breast cancer. And here’s the exciting part: I still coach everyone else, but now, people can donate to support me in helping others. It’s a cause close to my heart, and I’m thrilled to be able to make a difference.
